Beatrice Peterson ’12 Awarded 2026 Journalist of the Year, by the National Association of Black Journalists

Trinity congratulates Beatrice Peterson, Class of 2012, on being selected as the 2026 Journalist of the Year by the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) recognizing her groundbreaking accomplishments and commitment to uplifting and supporting the Black community through media and journalism.

A proud Trinity graduate, Beatrice participated in Trinity’s Honors Program and earned a double major in Political Science and Business with a concentration in Global Business. Following graduation, she earned her master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

Over the course of a journalism career spanning more than a decade, Beatrice has contributed to major national outlets including ABC News, POLITICO, Glamour Magazine, and Harper’s Bazaar. She currently serves as a National Enterprise Reporter at ABC News, where she covers the White House, national security, intelligence, Congress, and elections in the United States and abroad.

The NABJ is a worldwide network of more than 4,000 journalists, students, and media professionals dedicated to increasing diversity in newsrooms and ensuring more inclusive storytelling in media coverage. The organization provides its members with innovative training opportunities, career development resources, advocacy initiatives, and professional networking support for Black journalists and media professionals worldwide.
