For two years after graduating from Trinity, Briana served as a lead teacher in Prince George’s County while presenting professional development sessions for educators across the district, serving as her school’s math department chair, and mentoring new teachers. In 2019 she accepted a position with Caroline County Public Schools, where she has served as an assistant principal since.

Briana led her school’s Well-Being and Belonging School Improvement Team, an effort that helped produce the highest student attendance rate in Caroline County Public Schools. In 2024 the Maryland Association of Elementary School Principals honored her with its Connected School Leader Award, recognizing her use of digital tools and collaboration to strengthen communication and school culture.

“Trust, collaboration, and a strong sense of belonging are the foundation for increasing academic achievement and creating schools where everyone feels valued and supported,” Briana said.

She credits Trinity with the foundation for that work. “My education at Trinity Washington University challenged me to think critically, lead with confidence, and advocate for all students,” she said. “Trinity gave me the foundation and confidence to pursue school leadership and continues to influence the way I support educators, students, and families each day.” Her service extends beyond her building: with the Maryland Association of Elementary School Principals, she has served on the Annual Conference Planning Committee, represented the Eastern Shore as Zone 4 Representative, and chaired the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
