Philosophy

The most rewarding benefit associated with a faculty position is the opportunity to actively engage students in critical thinking approaches to learning, and inspire their confidence in applying their knowledge to real life situations and problems. At this juncture in my career, I am very interested in a faculty position which allows me to utilize innovative teaching approaches for subject content related to healthcare management courses in the following areas: Health Services Administration, Long-Term Care Administration, Legal Aspects and Ethics of Health Care, Health Technology and Human Diseases, Health Care and the Indigent, Public Health Policy, and Human Resource Management in Health Care, Religion and Health. I also have interest in teaching subjects related to the science of Finance such as Financial Management for Health Care Organizations, Principles of Finance, and Financial Markets and Institutions.

In addition, I also enjoy the experience of advising students and supporting extra curricular activities that aim to supplement and enhance their knowledge and training in becoming strong business leaders in health care management. I’ve been very active over the past years mentoring the next generation and helping them understand and explore all of the career pathways that can be associated with a degree in health care management.

Last, I enjoy the opportunity to participate in developing well-designed courses and create materials for effective instruction. Not only does this process provide a quality experience for the student, it also helps me to continue my growth in learning as I prepare course learning objective, syllabi and other related learning materials. Through strategic curriculum planning, I’ve learned to anticipate questions of interest that may call for the need of additional materials to supplement a lesson plan, or perhaps open up novel areas of training and educational research that could be explored by faculty and/or students.
