Student Assistant – CAS Undergraduate Research

Position Summary

Trinity Washington University is seeking a motivated and organized student to support the development and administration of undergraduate research initiatives on campus. This position will provide an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in research administration, website management, data organization, program guidelines and resource development, and student engagement.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, comfortable learning new technology, and interested in helping expand and improve undergraduate research opportunities for students across campus.

Primary Responsibilities

The student employee may assist with:

  • Website Development and Management
    • Help build, update, and maintain the undergraduate research website.
    • Organize and update information about research programs, opportunities, deadlines, events, and resources.
    • Identify ways to make the website more accessible, useful, and engaging for students and faculty.
  • Policies and Procedures
    • Assist with documenting and organizing policies and procedures related to undergraduate research.
    • Help create guides, forms, templates, FAQs, and other administrative resources.
    • Research practices at other institutions and help identify approaches that may be useful on campus.
  • Data Collection and Management
    • Collect, organize, and maintain information related to undergraduate research activities on campus.
    • Assist with tracking student participation, research opportunities, programs, events, and other relevant data.
    • Help develop spreadsheets, databases, reports, and other tools for organizing and analyzing information.
    • Maintain accurate and organized records while following university requirements for handling information.
  • Identifying Research Opportunities
    • Help locate and compile undergraduate research opportunities available to students.
    • Research opportunities offered by departments, faculty, centers, institutes, and external organizations.
    • Assist with developing and maintaining a centralized database or resource of opportunities.
  • Administrative Support
    • Assist with scheduling, communications, event preparation, and other program activities.
    • Help prepare presentations, reports, newsletters, announcements, and promotional materials.
    • Support outreach to students, faculty, and campus partners.
    • Perform other administrative duties related to undergraduate research as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at Trinity Washington University.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

Preferred:

  • Interest in undergraduate research, higher education, or academic administration.
  • Experience with website content management or basic web design.
  • Experience working with spreadsheets, databases, or data collection.
  • Experience creating documents, forms, or digital resources.
  • Familiarity with social media, graphic design, or digital communications.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn new tools and systems.
