On Campus Work Study: Athletics Student Worker

The Athletics Student Worker will provide general support to the Athletic Department and athletic department administrators with game-day operations, administrative responsibilities, and day-to-day departmental needs. This position provides students with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working in collegiate athletics while developing skills in event management, communication, organization, and customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of athletic events, including equipment, tables, chairs, signage, and other game-day materials.
  • Assist with game-day operations for home athletic contests, including preparing facilities and supporting event staff before, during, and after competitions.
  • Attend and assist with all assigned home athletic events, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Assist with athletic equipment and ensure equipment is properly organized, transported, stored, and maintained.
  • Assist athletic department administrators with office and administrative tasks.
  • Help maintain clean, organized, and prepared athletic facilities and workspaces.
  • Assist with special athletic department events, projects, and initiatives. Qualifications
  • Must be a currently enrolled student at the University.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends based on the athletic department’s home competition schedule.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional and positive attitude.
  • Ability to lift, move, and transport athletic equipment and supplies as needed.

Position Purpose

The purpose of the Athletics Student Worker position is to provide essential operational and administrative support to the Athletic Department and its administrators while providing students with practical experience in the day-to-day operations of a collegiate athletic department.
