Career Ambassador Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Career Ambassador position reports to the Director of Career Development and provides operational support to the Office of Career Services.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND TASKS:

· Create a welcoming environment for students by greeting them upon entry into the career services area

· Respond to emails from various constituents in a courteous and professional manner

· Attentively and enthusiastically answer students questions regarding the resources available through the Office of Career Services

· Provide administrative support for projects and events, which may include career fairs, employer information sessions, career development workshops etc.

· Develop marketing materials on canva and stripo.email to promote career services events to students, faculty and staff on campus

· Serve as an active student voice participating in career services programs with the goal of supporting and motivating students. Sharing your perspective on relevant career development topics and acting as a role model for other students that interface with our office

· Utilize Handshake platform to review employer profiles, job listings and virtual career fair data

· Meet with students one-on-one for student appointments around topics such as, Intro to Handshake and How to Use Handshake to Search for Jobs and Internships etc.

· Create student, faculty/staff facing instructional/tutorial video content materials. Edit content via technological platforms

· Under guidance of the Director, network with employers, other career professionals, and various related constituencies to promote Trinity students and the Career Services office

· Assist Director in serving as a resource and liaison to employers interested in partnering with Trinity in order to increase the University’s visibility among employers and to attract employer participation in career center programs and job postings

· Research current information on career fields, employment needs/trends, salaries, etc. using NACE, Linkedin, the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, etc. to refresh career data

· Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Strong writing skills

· Able to communicate in a professional and courteous manner both written and orally

· Proactive and able to assess needs and share ideas for solutions

· Strong interpersonal skills. Open to sharing your ideas on how to enhance the student experience with the Office of Career Services

· Must be tech savvy and strong comfortability with Google Drive- Docs, Sheets, Powerpoint

· Mastery of Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word

· Fast learner. Open to learning new skills

Must be available to work for a minimum of 10 hours per week during regular office hours 9am- 6pm.
