Why Students Choose Trinity at THEARC
Built for Your Life
Classes meet evenings (6:30 PM) and optionally on weekends, with in-person, online, and hybrid options. Take 2 classes per semester and earn your Associate’s degree in about 3½ years — on a schedule that fits around work and family, not the other way around.
Truly Affordable
Tuition at THEARC is $195 per credit hour — $585 per course (in 2026–27; see current tuition). That’s $1,170 for a full semester of two classes, and most textbooks are free. Financial aid, FAFSA, grants, and payment plans are available to help cover costs further.
A Real Degree, A Clear Path Forward
All three Associate of Arts programs are 61 credit hours — with the same academic standards as Trinity’s main campus. When you graduate, every credit transfers directly toward a bachelor’s degree in Trinity’s School of Professional and Graduate Studies. Your THEARC degree is a beginning, setting you up for success if you choose to continue on to more advanced degrees.
Right in Your Neighborhood
Located at 1901 Mississippi Ave. SE — easy to reach on the Metro Green Line (Southern Avenue station). THEARC is a thriving 16-acre community campus home to 14 nonprofits, including Children’s National Hospital, DC Central Kitchen, The Washington Ballet, and Levine Music. This is a place where the whole community comes to grow.
Programs Offered at THEARC
Trinity at THEARC offers three Associate of Arts degree programs and a certificate program — all designed for working adults:
- Associate of Arts in General Studies
- Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Education
- Associate of Arts in Health Services
- Community Health Worker Certificate
What Our Students Say
“THEARC was essential for both my personal and professional development. The location, schedule, cost, and support services were suited specifically for me, an adult learner returning to school. My professors were approachable and relatable, and my advisor, Director Lynch, was always just a phone call away.”
