Ewaoluwa Ogundana writes for The Hechinger Report -DACA recipients like this DREAMer ask for full participation in American life.

Ewaoluwa Ogundana is a government relations assistant at G.S. Proctor & Associates, a lobbying and consulting firm in Maryland where she had an internship during college. She graduated from Trinity in December 2020, with a major in political science, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious honor society.

Originally from Nigeria, she came to the United States when she was four. As a Dreamer with DACA status, she received a scholarship to attend Trinity from TheDream.US, which Trinity has partnered with to support Dreamers since the scholarship program was established in 2014 (learn more about Dreamer Scholarships at Trinity.) During her senior year, she served as president of Trinity’sStudent Government.

She joined a distinguished national panel in June 2020 to comment on the U.S. Supreme Court’s DACA decision and her experience as a Dreamer Scholar at Trinity. She wrote an essay published about The Hechinger Report about her experience as a Dreamer and her plans for her future: ‘What I really aspire to do is fully participate in the country that’s been my home for the majority of my life.”
