Due to the weather emergency later today, Trinity will close at 1 pm today, Monday, March 16. All classes and activities are cancelled after 1 pm. Given the disruption likely in this storm, including power outages, we will not go virtual today.
Want to know immediately about weather events, power outages or other emergencies that impact the operation of our campus?
Text trinitydcalerts to 866-925-2949 on your cell phone and you will get instant alerts about Trinity’s status and directions in emergencies. (NO TRINITY SPAM to this address! Emergency alerts only!!)
If you are a resident student, please be sure your room windows are closed. If you have a car parked on one of our lots, please be sure the car is away from trees. We will monitor the threat of high winds to let you know if further precautions are necessary.
If you are a member of staff or faculty with a car on campus, please do not park near trees and please avoid parking along the north side of Main Hall.
While tornados are highly unlikely in the city proper, if there is a tornado warning that includes Trinity’s campus, we will let you know immediately and will direct you as follows:
In the event of a tornado warning: All persons on campus should be inside and move away from windows, and proceed to these locations for safety:
- Main Hall: basement corridor and rooms away from windows
- Library: basement periodicals room (no windows)
- Payden: move to first floor corridor away from the lobby area, stay away from windows
- Cuvilly: close all room doors and move to the basement corridor
- Kerby: close all room doors and move to the first floor corridors on either wing
We will continue to evaluate conditions and will make further announcements as necessary.
