Philosophy

I have a genuine sense of wonder as I consider the incredible structure and function of the human body, and I enjoy sharing this passion with my students. I believe a strong grasp of Human Anatomy and Physiology is the foundation for success in medical education and diverse medical careers. As a science, I believe Anatomy and Physiology has unique challenges for the student. There is the sheer amount of concepts to master in a short amount of time. There is also the linguistic understanding of medical terminology, the spatial understanding of anatomical relationships, and the procedural conceptualization of physiology. In light of this, I endeavor to cultivate mastery and confidence with innovative instruction, creative student engagement, and adjustment of techniques for different learning styles. This includes incorporation of drawing, diagramming, dissecting, 3D modeling, mnemonics, memory techniques, study skills instruction and more! I enjoy being a life long learner and growing continually as a teacher to better support each individual student and their unique needs.
