An Honors Experience Built for Leaders, Thinkers, and Changemakers.

This innovative three-year Honors curriculum within the College of Arts & Sciences is organized around annual themes that build intentionally upon one another, creating a cohesive intellectual and developmental journey. Through integrated high-impact practices—such as collaborative learning, community engagement, and undergraduate research—students connect classroom inquiry with real-world application. Open to incoming freshmen only. Admitted students will be contacted by the Admissions Office prior to applying to the program.

Annual Themes

Year 1: The Power of Narrative – Explore how reading, writing, and perspective shape meaning, belief, and social change through courses in critical reading, oral argumentation, composition, and religion.
Year 2: The Power of Activism & Empowerment – Examine social problems, environmental justice, protest movements, and community change while connecting scholarship to advocacy.
Year 3: The Power of Inquiry & Influence – Complete advanced research seminars and an independent Honors research project culminating in a scholarly presentation.

Scaffolded, theme-based curriculum that intentionally builds depth each year. Embedded high-impact practices, including research development, proposal writing, and public scholarship.

Eligibility & Application

Students who have applied to Trinity and have earned a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher will be nominated for the Honors Program.

Nominated students will receive an official invitation from the Office of Admissions requesting a written response to a series of short prompts.

The Honors Selection Committee will thoughtfully review all submitted responses and select students for admission to the program based on the strength of their application.
