The Campaign – $5 Million Challenge

The Campaign for Alumnae Hall represents Trinity’s commitment to preserving the historic charm of our beloved building while upgrading its infrastructure and amenities to ensure this campus centerpiece continues to serve Trinity students with 21st-century functionality.

To help Trinity reach the ultimate goal of $50 million in funds raised for Alumnae Hall, a benefactor has issued a $5 million matching gift challenge to our alumnae and friends.  With half of that amount already in hand, Trinity seeks an additional $2.5 million to meet the $5 million challenge by December 2025.

We invite you to make a gift to meet this extraordinary challenge and support the renovation of this beautiful historic building that will play a significant role in ensuring Trinity’s vitality long into the future. Thanks to this generous matching gift opportunity, every dollar you contribute will be doubled, amplifying your impact and bringing us closer to preserving Alumnae Hall’s legacy while creating a vibrant hub for generations of Trinity students to come

Alumnae Hall’s Central Location

A True Campus Center

This project transforms a historic treasure into a state-of-the-art Campus Center for all. Ideally located between the Payden Academic Center, Main Hall, and the Athletic Center, the reborn Alumnae Hall will feature contemporary dining options, upgraded residences, and meeting and casual spaces for all members of the Trinity community to enjoy.

A new student lounge and activity spaces will be added on the lower level. Student rooms and shared spaces on the upper floors will be refurbished with new HVAC and plumbing.

An Entirely New Dining Experience

Dining at Trinity should be for everyone on campus. Our goal is to make the main dining hall a place where everyone will want to gather, have a meal, linger over conversations, study together, and enjoy campus life as a community.

We know that food is key to bringing people together, but it must be planned, prepared and presented in ways that satisfy modern tastes and the needs of a very diverse community of diners.

Cafeteria-style service will be replaced with all-day dining, with food court-style offerings emphasizing meals freshly prepared on request.

Progress and Timeline

Trinity has chosen an outstanding team of accomplished building professionals including Brailsford & Dunlavey for overall project management, and the Design/Build team of Clark Construction and Page Architects.  Design development is underway and construction for the first phase (creating temporary dining space in Cuvilly Hall) should start in late summer.  Alumnae Hall’s residential rooms closed at the end of the spring 2025 semester for the duration of the project, and at the end of the fall semester the dining hall will also close.

In January 2026, dining services will open on the first floor of Cuvilly Hall and construction begins! Construction will continue until October 2027, and by the end of the year the all-new Alumnae Hall will open its doors and begin its new life as a vibrant campus center for all.

Preserving a Legacy

When Alumnae Hall opened in 1929, it was the height of gracious living for college women of that era. With beautiful Italianate architecture, the building spoke to the elegance and ambition of a women’s college in the early 20th Century.

More than a dining and residence hall, Alumnae Hall was the heart of the Trinity community – where students would throw special events, and gather to study, socialize, and enjoy each other’s company.

Help us preserve this legacy and bring about the renaissance of Alumnae Hall.
