College of Arts and Sciences Honors Program
The Honors program offers achieving students special classes that teach advanced critical thinking and dive deep into topics through intensive debate. As an honors student, you’ll be more appealing to employers, and your career-focused classes will prepare you to put knowledge into action in the workplace.
The program emphasizes:
- Academic Excellence: You must earn a grade of “B” or higher in all honors courses and maintain an overall GPA of 3.5 to remain in the program.
- Conscientious Leadership: You’ll be challenged to examine the values, attitudes, and assumptions you hold about yourself and others and to explore the connection between these values and the world around you. You will learn to become an effective leader with skills to promote social justice.
- Intellectual Ambition: You’ll investigate new areas of intellectual development, participate in new methods of learning, examine the connections between disciplines and approaches, and engage in original research.
If your High School GPA is above 3.4, you’ll automatically be invited to participate in the Honors Program when you are accepted to Trinity. Sophomores and transfer students may be recommended by a professor or should apply to the Director of the Honors Program for consideration.
