United We Dream

Claudia Quiñonez is an advocate and organizing manager at the state level for United We Dream, where she worked and interned for several years while she was a student at Trinity. A Dreamer, TheDream.US scholar and political science major, she was one of the featured speakers in May 2020 at the #Immigrad 2020 Virtual Commencement, Resilience: We’re Just Getting Started. This celebration was co-sponsored by many organizations, including TheDream.US, and the President’s Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration. This virtual Commencement for college and high school graduates also welcomed their families, friends and campus champions.

While at Trinity she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, Pi Sigma Alpha and Sigma Iota Rho honor societies. She was a panelist on a WAMU “In Your Community” program on DACA and undocumented students and spoke positively about her experience at Trinity and with TheDream.US. She was an education and justice organizer for CASA de Maryland for several years and, prior to enrolling at Trinity, she earned her associate’s degree from Montgomery College.
