Brandon Todd, who earned his MBA from Trinity in 2009, is director of corporate policy at Washington Gas. For six years, he served as a D.C. Council Member representing Ward 4. He was Muriel Bowser’s chief of staff when she was the Ward 4 DC Councilmember. When she became mayor in 2015, he won a special election in May that year to succeed her and served on the D.C. Council through December 2020. He served on several D.C. Council committees and chaired the Committee on Government Operations.

At Washington Gas, his duties include spearheading the company’s public policy group, supervising federal, state and local government relations in the District, Maryland and Virginia. Washington Gas has over 1.2 million customers in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

He is also responsible for developing and executing Washington Gas’s external relations strategy advocating for its business and policy priorities among public regulators, legislators and important partners and stakeholders. He will be the company’s link to government, community organizations and industry trade groups.

Brandon Todd is a graduate of Eastern Senior High School in Washington, D.C., with a bachelor’s degree in communications from Bowie State University.
