1946 Class Notes

2019

Dear Classmates,

Thank you all for the letters, news and donations to the Class Fund! Thanks again to Betty Burlee Kehoe for her help.

Sadly, a note from Sr. Pauline in St. Louis told us that Sr. Rose Virginia “Betty” Hayes, RSG passed away in October.

Most of us are turning 90 this year and not surprisingly our activities have slowed a bit.

Emily Duchesne McGrail reports, “I’ve really slowed down.” But she is enjoying the pace. Her grade school grandchildren are neighbors and keep them busy with visits and activities.  The older grandchildren live farther away and are doing well with college and jobs.

Betty Burlee Kehoe has six children and seven grandchildren. In October the whole family attended the New Orleans wedding of her oldest granddaughter, Kathy. It was a beautiful wedding and they loved New Orleans! Betty spends her time reading, attending balance class and taking other courses.

Pat Kelly Burke’s letter was written on her 90th birthday! She has six great-grandchildren and two more on the way! She has all happy news with a family wedding last October and another next June. She sends love to all the Class of ’46.

Faith Jouvenal Adkins reports that everything is, “A-okay!” We are happy to hear it. Faith has spent 55 years in the same house, surrounded by her three sons, their spouses and five grandchildren. Her extra-curricular activities include attending sports events, birthdays and graduations – all happy occasions.

Peggy Carlisle Speirs is back in ME after spending the winter in FL.

Barbara Conway is extremely pleased with her apartment complex.

Denise O’Shea Whelan has 33 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and may take a trip to Paris!

Peggy Rogers Felmly still lives in her own home and feels fortunate to be in good health. She thanks God every day for the good life and sends her best to all the classmates.

Gloria Link Woeber doesn’t play as much golf and tennis these days. She enjoys playing bridge. Her sons own the mustard factory now but mom keeps an eye on things.

Marguerite Blansfield Beigel spent the winter in FL and was back in MD for the summer.

Our town of Littleton is celebrating its 300th birthday this year, and we are enjoying the festivities – picnics, parties and a parade.  The whole family went to ME this summer for vacation. My best to all the Class of 1946.

Be well and God Bless,

Dorothea “Dotty” Condon Chase
