1944 Class Notes

2014

Dear Classmates,

Our 70th Class Reunion was held in May 2014. Ann Forbes Doyle and Kathleen Keliher Dannis were our only representatives. First, they said they were treated royally and it was very nice, but then, it also felt a little lonely. Ann and Kathleen remain in touch and are active in the Christ Child Society. Kathleen wrote that her family is growing by leaps and bounds. Ann called me to say that Kathleen had a bad fall in her kitchen recently.

Jeanne Gannon Killorin writes from NC that her travelling days are over – she has only been to Atlanta. Mary Eilee Theriault is still “keeping house” in her apartment but finds her computer has lost its glow after these 59 years.

Helen Goss Lewis and I keep in touch by phone. This year she was at her summer home in Michigan awaiting the visit of one of her 14 grandchildren and three of her great-grands who are based in England. Because our chats are infrequent, this call lasted over one and a half hours!

As for me, it has been my “season of discontent” dealing with health issues. I know I am on the road to recovery. A new great-grandson has perked me up.

Sadly, Katrina Quinn Weschler passed away in October, followed by Jeanne Cleary Goessling and Katherine Alberti Angermueller. Tom Weschsler wrote of Katrina’s devotion to Trinity and its’ broadening of her outlook and teaching her how to work with people. Hans Angermueller told me of Kay’s love of Trinity and her treasure trove of Trinity friends. Jeanne’s family arranged a memorial Mass in the spring of 2014 for her in Evanston, IL, which was well-attended by her large family and friends. Jeanne had been a great writer, volunteer and collector.

After my last class letter went to print, I received a note from the daughter of Alice Keller Fisher notifying me of Alice’s death in 2011.

May they all rest in peace. Thank you for your generous class checks to Trinity.

Until next year,

Patricia Quinlin Gudgeon
