On Thursday, September 25, 2025, the College or Arts and Sciences held its Dean’s List Ceremony to celebrate students who have successfully earned 12 credits in the College of Arts and Sciences and have attained a 3.5 GPA or above for the semester with no incomplete or failing grades.

Dr. Melissa Harris & Dr. Sita Ramamurti greeted the students with encouragement and congratulated them on their diligence, and Diana Cely de Galvin, ’18, served as guest speaker to inspire our CAS outstanding students.

“As you move forward, whether towards further academic work, research, leadership, internships, or even careers,” de Galvin encouraged the students, “carry this mindset that brought you here to this point with you. Be excellent, yes, but also be humble. Be agile. Be curious, be kind, especially in this world where kindness is lacking. Be truthful, especially in this political climate where the truth is optional.”

Above all, de Galvin charged the Dean’s List students to “be loud,” to make sure their voices are heard.
